McGoff Group strengthens it's senior team

The McGoff Group is expanding its portfolio across Build to Rent, elderly care and childcare provision, thereby creating significant opportunity for its construction-related businesses to scale up and service accordingly.

Historically McGoff’s Construction Services businesses (McGoff Construction, Panacea Building Systems, McGoff Group Facilities Services and Edencroft Building Services) were led by a singular Group Director, however given the significant volume of work now being delivered, the decision has been made to evolve the Group’s operating model, allowing all businesses to function independently under clearly defined leadership structures.

McGoff Construction

Paul Rooney takes to the helm as MD for McGoff Construction after 4 successful years with the business. Paul brings a wealth of development and contracting experience and will play a central role in shaping MCL’s long-term growth strategy, expanding its housing partnerships footprint, whilst fostering a culture of performance, innovation, and accountability throughout the business. Sean Balcombe, promoted to Commercial Director, will lead the Commercial, Pre-Construction, and Procurement teams, providing strategic oversight across all commercial activities. Recently appointed Iain Fleming, in his role as Construction Director, will continue to support MCL, ensuring delivery efficiency, safety, and quality across all build programmes.

Panacea Building Systems

Mike Foy, promoted to Managing Director, will lead Panacea working alongside CEO Dean Johnston to drive the business’s ambitious expansion plans, with a sharp focus on scaling operations, enhancing service offerings, and securing high-value third-party contracts, ensuring Panacea remains at the forefront of innovation within the specialist subcontracting sector.

MGFS

Matt Adley continues to expertly lead McGoff Group Facilities Services (MGFS) after 9 years as MD, leveraging his expertise in facilities management and fit-out to broaden the client base, strengthen repeat third-party contracts, and enhance operational efficiency across all projects.

Edencroft Building Services

Peter Croft heads up specialist electrical contractor; EdenCroft following its inception in 2023. Peter will focus on driving operational performance, embedding best practices across all projects, and enhancing the business’s reputation for reliability, quality, and technical expertise.

To support the respective Managing Directors, Dean Johnston will fulfil a Chairman role within Edencroft and MGFS, and Declan McGoff will continue in his Chairman role supporting Paul Rooney within MCL, strengthening leadership development and driving performance across the Group.

MCL Chairman Declan McGoff commented:

“We are, and have always been, a champion for promoting from within and this evolution of our operating model is clear evidence of this. By empowering our leadership teams, fostering collaboration, and unlocking the full potential of each division, we are laying the foundations for a new era of opportunity, innovation, and bold expansion, setting the stage for exceptional growth across the entire Group.”

The proposed changes are due to take place from 1st April 2026.
