May 15 2007

McGoff Construction Ltd. were chosen to undertake the fitting out of an existing developer’s shell to form a new Waxy O’Connor’s public house in the Printworks redevelopment in Manchester city centre. The shell unit was laid out over several floors including lower and upper basement and lower and upper ground floors which were fitted out to create a 9 room, 4 level, 3 bar dining and drinking establishment which has a capacity of 650 people. The fit-out included eclectic touches such as pulpits, pews and a real tree imported from Ireland that spans all 4 floors. The tree was cut into sections and lowered through the void and reassembled with high tensile steel rods inserted through its core.
