This project involved the hi-tech fit-out of an existing derelict Grade II listed warehouse, to provide contemporary office accommodation and commercial space.This project was undertaken on a fast-track basis, as completion in 20 weeks was essential to accommodate the fact that many of the offices had already been let on fixed commencement dates.The works involved the wholesale internal refurbishment and extensive external works to the old Victorian building, in order to offer the expected level of contemporary facilities.
This development is situated on one of Manchester City Centre’s main thoroughfares, close to Albert Square, on John Dalton Street. The works mainly comprised the alteration & refurbishment of an existing 1970’s concrete framed office block. A new double height main entrance was created on the main street elevation. The existing ground floor was stripped out and altered to create three independent retail units. The existing ground and first floor steel framed windows were replaced with a new full height double structural glazing system, creating a magnificent feature to the front elevation.
