Alton Towers Resort, Staffordshire
The UK’s only CBeebies Land Hotel features Octonauts, Postman Pat, In the Night Garden and Swashbuckler themed rooms and has been uniquely designed for young families to enjoy.
This project comprised new build hotel accommodation providing 76 beds and remedial works to the existing Spa, including associated enabling works and external works. This included demolition/enabling works with excavation of existing foundations, groundworks around the existing spa, demolition of the conservatory to the spa, diversion of below ground services and relocation of two existing storage units.
The main entrance comprises a vibrant themed area with retail outlets, themed lifts and entertaining space including a bar and 200 cover restaurant.
The hotel was built on pads and strip footings with steel transfer deck installed to the ground floor, this was then continued up with Met Frame structure and SFS infill to the transfer frame. Externally there is a brick façade and sliding sash windows with traditional slate tiled roof.
Internal works included the mechanical and electrical installations along with comfort cooling and heat recovery systems. The walls were dry lined to receive paint and wallpaper finishes along with all joinery and FF&E. The commercial kitchen was installed along with hot and cold servery counters.
The hotel is uniquely themed throughout including wallpaper, floor finishes in vinyl to main ground floor and themed carpet to all corridors and bedrooms. The main area features an operational windmill, tree lined canopy and feature shops and entertainment space.
