Manchester-based McGoff Construction are nearing completion of a new £7m new build care home in Lichfield for Barchester Healthcare. Known as ‘The Spires’, the 70 bed care home on Stafford Road will bring much-needed care services and job opportunities to the area. The home will create around 100 jobs and provide high-quality care services for older people and people living with dementia.
Following the success of the Lichfield scheme, McGoff are now working together with Barchester Healthcare on a second scheme located on Pevensey Bay Road in Eastbourne. This project involves the demolition of the existing derelict 120 bed nursing home and development of a new state-of-the-art 80 bed care home. Tree protection works have now commenced on site with demolition works due to start later this month.
McGoff Divisional Construction Director, Chris Backhouse commented:
“Our ethos is heavily geared towards fostering long term, partnered relationships with our clients. We are delighted to be building a strong, synergetic partnership with Barchester Healthcare, working closely with them at all stages of the development process to support the successful delivery of their extensive new build programme.”
Mark Bennett, Property Director of Barchester said:
“We are pleased to be working with McGoff Construction on our new Lichfield site and have benefitted from their previous experience of new build construction in the sector. The Spires marks the start of an ambitious new build programme for Barchester and strong partnerships will play an important part in that programme delivery. We look forward to opening the home and welcoming the local community.”
